Step by step.
How to weave Ketupat Burung ( Bird ).
PART 2

From Part 1
Bird Body


Step by step
How to fold Bird Head

Don't cut the ribbon.
Just adjust the ribbon.
To fold  Bird head, make the length
from the Bird body about 30cm.

Fold ribbon upward.
To make triangle shape.
 

Do it both side.
 

Fold it again as shown.
 

Fold it both side.
 

Leave front ribbon to one side first.
Do the back ribbon,
fold it again to make a triangle shape.
Just follow step as shown below.
 

 

 

 

Back bird head is done.
 

Now, fold the front ribbon.
Do it as you did it before.
Just follow the step below.
 

 

 

Unfold the ribbon,
just follow the mark and
overlap the back ribbon (back bird head)

Fold ribbon downward.
 

Move it upward.
 

Turn it around
bring it to the front again
as shown below.
 

Hold it with your left hand.
Move front ribbon to back,
hold it with your left finger.
 

Take the back ribbon
slide it into the bird body.
Just follow the step below.
 


 

 

Turn it over,
do the other side again
the same thing.

Weaving Ketupat Burung Part 1


Step by step.
How to weave Ketupat Burung ( Bird )
PART 1 

 
 Using 1/2 ins ribbon (standard size).
Cut 2 pieces of 150cm length ribbon.
Make 4 loops on both hands.

 
 Crossover the loop alternately.

 
 Until it becomes like this.

 
 Using your right hand.
Take one piece of ribbon
Slide into (overlap the weaving Ketupat ) upward.
As shown below.

 

 
 Pull out the overlap ribbon.
(not the one you slide in upward)

 
The one you just pull out,
slide in downward,
as shown below.

 

 
Now using your left hand.
Do the same thing again,
slid into (overlap the weaving Ketupat) upward.
As shown below.

 

 
Pull out the overlap ribbon.
(not the one you slide in upward)

 
Still using your left hand.
slide in downward
to your right hand.
As shown below step by step.

 

 

  


 
Tighten it.

 
When you done it look like this.

Weaving Ketupat Satay

Step by step 
How to weave Ketupat Satay

Ketupat Satay is the most simple and easy to weave.
Using standard size ribbon.
Cut 2 pieces of ribbon about 120cm length.
Make 4 loops on both hand, as shown below.
But you can make it 3 loops to weave small Ketupat
or more loops to weave bigger Ketupat.


Cross over each loop alternately.

When it done look like this
 

Using your Right hand,
take one bottom right ribbon,
slide it in alternately to the left.

Pull it out as shown.
 

Do it again, but this time
using your Left hand.
Slide it in alternately to right.

Pull it out.
 


Tighten the ribbon by 
doing it slowly,
adjust the length
top and bottom as you like it.

 
Done.
